On Sunday, Deauville-based trainer (Calvados) Jean-Claude Rouget won his sixth Qatar Prix du Jockey Club, thanks to the colt Ace Impact, owned by Serge Stempniak and ridden by Cristian Demuro. The colt, who came to the race on a three-race unbeaten streak, was crowned champion, setting a new race record. Biding his time, he came after the favourite Big Rock, who had broken away coming out of the final bend final, beating him by three and a half lengths. Marhaba Ya Sanafi, the winner of the Emirates Poule d’Essai des Poulains, took third place, ahead of Feed the Flame.
