The Championnat des Grandes Ecoles

A horse racing challenge for student riders
The Championnat des Grandes Ecoles is an annual horse racing championships reserved for students and recent graduates of France’s Grandes Ecoles and reputed universities. To take part, the participants need to have riding experience but not necessarily a racing background.

Every year, around fifty participants are selected to take part in this unique challenge. The Championships includes three qualifying races and a final, held during the #Jeuxdi by ParisLongchamp events on this legendary racecourse.

The entrants must take part in a training course, taught by professionals, before they race. The Championships also gives student riders the chance to meet other keen riders and build new friendships thanks to the various events organised throughout the year.

The 2023 edition of the Championnat des Grandes Ecoles will include a first qualifying race on 11th May, a second qualifying race sponsored by the Haras du Logis Saint-Germain on 1st June and a third qualifying race sponsored by Jobpass on 29th June.

The Championnat des Grandes Ecoles is a unique opportunity for these riders to take part in a high-level competition and to step into a jockey’s stirrups for the day. Whether you are a keen rider or just curious to learn more about this sport, the Championnat des Grandes Ecoles is an event you will not want to miss.

The riders are ready to represent their university and prove that they are capable of being a jockey for the day!
